Camping in the Alps - Part 1

Our first campsite was Le Pelly, near Sixt Fer-a-Cheval.

Despite sharing only a few words, Wilf found a great mate in our neighbour, Axel.
In the week we stayed, we did several big climbs, though the highest peaks were still towering over us.

This became a theme of the holiday - waiting for butterflies to sit on you - something that happened even more frequently when you had worked up a healthy sweat (or had a hat with 'flowers' on...)
The alpine flower meadows were a huge highlight of the trip.

 Cascade du Rouget

 International construction projects.

 meadows near the Col d'Anterne

Geneva with the Donkins

Prolonged sessions in their pool were interrupted by a trip to Chamonix and the mer du Glace.

Shopping for lunch at their local market.

Off to France!

 On the ferry.
Quick stop at Lac d'Orient for a swim en route.

Our first view of Lake Geneva and Mont Blanc beyond.
